Class Descriptions
Gentle Yoga
A gentle introduction to the healing benefits of yoga. Each class will include a warm up sequence, standing postures to build strength, seated postures to relieve tension, plus a short meditation and complete relaxation. Perfect for beginning students or anyone who wants to nurture themselves with a slow and gentle practice.
Vinyasa Flow
A flowing style of yoga based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa system of linking movement with conscious breath. Each class is a unique sequence of poses designed to uplift and inspire. The pace of this class is a little faster than the gentle class. They are also longer classes and offer more variety of poses including some more challenging poses. Some yoga experience is recommended. Click here for more information about Ashtanga yoga.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is a passive style of yoga that uses bolsters and blankets to support your body in releasing tension. A very slow paced, peaceful and healing experience.
Foundations A truly all levels class designed to offer insight into the foundations of breath, bandha (supporting ourselves from our core) and postural alignment principles. This class is energetically a middle point between the gentle and vinyasa classes. Beginners, experienced practitioners, and those with therapeutic concerns are welcome.
Yin Yoga
A relaxing practice of gentle stretching postures, held for three to five minutes at a time. Most of the postures are on the floor, and gravity does most of the work while the muscles can remain as relaxed as possible. In Yin Yoga, the connective tissue surrounding ligaments and joints is stretched and hydrated – minimizing joint stiffness, increasing mobility, and helping to align skeletal structure. The stillness takes practitioners deep into the poses, calming the mind and awakening natural vitality.
Meditation
Our purpose in offering mediation is to provide our community with a sacred space to enjoy all the amazing benefits of a sitting practice. We invite beginners as well as experienced meditators to join us. Please arrive promplty at 9:00am to ensure the peacefulness of the space we will lock the doors from 9 until 9:30am.
